Serving different kinds of cuisine, the canteen is really a perfect place to dine study and relax. While the walls are simply dressed with obstruct photographs and information boards, the clean and purely white floors oozes sophistication and opulence which will surely impress you. Although the canteen is squashy, Mr. Leong, the principal of the school, explained that it was done that way so that many people can dine at one time.

While the decoration may be minimalist, the food speaks volumes. Be prepared to be mesmerized by the redolence of the dishes. Start off with the Mee Rubus (literally boiled noodles in English), made of yellow egg noodles, with a spicy slightly sweet curry-like gravy. The Mee Rubus is a pleasant blend of spiciness and sweetness that the egg and the noodles make this an indulgent affair. I was actually pleased to see that the sauce was minimal so that I could fully enjoy the flavours.

Next comes the Chicken Rice with pieces of succulent fresh chicken pieces slowly braised in the white pearly warm and moist rice. The chicken is deeply enriched by the spices and ingredients that each mouthful is a treat of spiciness and sweetness. This dish is guaranteed to make you gasp with delight when you dine for its melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. In other words this dish is a worth a try.

To round off your satisfying meal, treat yourself to the Mee Goreng (Fried Noodles) which is another must try from the Malay stall. Recommended for the adventurous, this dish comprises succulent and crunchy pieces of sausages in the fried noodles with dash of fresh onion slices which gave a tongue-tingling tangy flavor. The end product is a house special that will surly piques one’s imagination.

Given the quality of the food servings, the food at the canteen is indeed very affordable. For those who looking out for new and unique tastes, the canteen has something to offer you. Not only is the food sold here is satiating, the friendly and pleasant staff also adds to making it a pleasurable and wonderful experience.
